Stella Actis & Intrigue provides music for wedding ceremonies, receptions, corporate events, bar/bat mitzvahs, and anniversaries. Our music ranges from classical & sacred for the ceremony, jazz for cocktails, standards for dinner, Frank Sinatra, Motown, oldies, disco, classic rock, country, contemporary Top 40 to ethnic selections in Italian, French, Spanish, Chinese, and Hebrew. We offer eight talented lead singers within the band, and a dynamic rhythm and horn section.
How did you get started?
I am a graduate from The University of Michigan School of Music and had a strong desire to perform and appreciation of many genres of music. Having a band and providing music and entertainment for all sorts of events allows the opportunity of pursuing a passion while making a living – a beautiful marriage.
What’s the best part about your job?
The best part of my job is the opportunity of meeting the clients and being a part of a joyous celebration and having an important role that enhances the occasion. The music and the band is a key ingredient of a successful party.
What sets you apart from others in your industry?
The talent of our vocalists and musicians, our versatility, song selections, and attention to detail are what set Intrigue apart from all our competitors. Intrigue offers eight lead singers which allow our range of music from Schubert’s Ave Maria, beautiful ballads by Andrea Bocelli and Sara Brightman, Etta James, R & B, Motown, Earth, Wind & Fire, Jimmy Buffet, The Beatles, Journey to current hits of Lady Gaga, Jason Mraz, Train, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and Usher. Additionally, we can accommodate music for different ethnic backgrounds such as Italian, Latin, and Hebrew incorporating a nice variety of music throughout an evening. All the guests will enjoy the music, dancing the night away and never leaving the dance floor or sitting and being entertained, as the band performs with much energy and enthusiasm.
Do you have any hidden talents?
My hidden talents are my organizational skills, which I utilize in operating the band as a business. I keep each band member apprised of our schedule, rehearsals, songs that need to be learned for each date, and upcoming engagements. I manage the band, handle all bookings, meet with the clients for pre-production meetings, and perform at each event all while being a Mom to my 6 year old. I am fortunate to have lots of help from my patient husband, Dean, who understands the business and the need to be available 24/7 in order to be successful. I feel very lucky for my family and each band member who I consider “family”.
